In a city that never sleeps and that is extremely noisy, Central Park must be a real breath of fresh air for New Yorkers. We headed there late morning yesterday for a stroll and some serious people watching and boy it did not disappoint. The park was all 50 shades of green and beautiful. We easily forgot all about the noise and only heard musicians playing the saxophone, the guitar and the birds singing. It felt so relaxing. I absolutely loved watching the real New Yorkers all geared up going for their power run or lazily reading the newspaper on a bench coffee in hand.
We entered the park through Columbus Circle after stopping by Whole Foods to grab some sandwiches, salads and fruits for a picnic and we slowly made our way up. We couldn't cover everything by foot of course, Central Park is way too big but we managed to see Strawberry Fields, the Conservatory water, the lake, the Loeb boathouse and the Belvedere castle. The park is full of photo opportunities; every where you look there is a pretty bridge, a gorgeous view of the skyscrapers or a beautiful roc to sit on and just soak it all in. Another must-do in my books!
